Over 15 years ago, younger Cathy and Amy were traveling, touring a theater show called, "Curses! Foiled Again!" when Amy said, "I'd like to have a band called "The Ladies Auxiliary Ukulele Orchestra." Cathy, thinking that neither she nor Amy actually played ukulele, said "My friend Bernice plays guitar. Maybe she wants to play ukulele with us!"
So it started. Weekly teas, with treats, tortilla chips and laughter. Then a handsome young Brit, talented and charming, swept Amy off her feet and over to Jolly Old England. And what were Bernice and Cathy to do? The Ladies had occaisional reunions, playing to faithful audiences who waited years between shows.
Then, the lovely Sarah danced into the Ladies lives. Sarah was fun, musical, practiced her new instrument with fervor and brought wonderful ideas to the weekly practices. Soon the LAUO was back, playing for audiances who no longer had to wait years between shows!
